2016 Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Fun Run

Plan on joining your Penn State family as we participate in the the seventh annual Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run to benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania.

The event will take place on Sunday, April 17th, during Blue White weekend.  

Sign up to walk the two mile Family Fun walk  or run the three mile course. Bring the Family! Children ages 8 and under are FREE, use discount code “child” if registering online. 

The event begins near the  Bryce Jordan Center (BJC) on Curtin Road, moves through Penn State’s scenic campus, and concludes with runners and walkers racing or strolling through the Beaver Stadium Tunnel and onto the Nittany Lions’ home turf to “finish at the fifty”.

The Paterno Family has supported Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) for more than two decades.  Sue Paterno began her more than 20 year labor of love with Special Olympics athletes in 1989 after joining the Board of Directors.  As a very active and engaged Board member, she serves on the Summer Games Committee and was instrumental in the establishment and growth of the Beaver Stadium three mile run and one mile Family Fun Walk, which has become one of SOPA’s largest fundraisers.s from the Run benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania and nearly 20,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.  Every fundraising achievement will help send more athletes to Summer Games!  Make a commitment today and change a life forever!
