Almost exactly like Herlocher's Mustard
Originally an Amish homemade mustard, this recipe is a very close duplication of the famous dipping Herlocher's mustard.

  1. 1/2 C white vinegar
  2. 1/2 C white sugar
  3. 2 T flour
  4. 1/2 C cream
  5. 2 T dry mustard (Colman's gives a nice tang)
  6. 1 large egg
  7. Optional: turmeric, to color
  1. In the saucepan of a double boiler, whisk all ingredients. Slowly bring double boiler to a boil, stirring continuously until thickened. Can be served immediately or cool.
  2. Microwave directions: in a large glass bowl whisk all ingredients until smooth. Microwave at full power in 30 second intervals, stirring in between until thickened.
  3. Serve with thick sourdough pretzels.
